  • How do I purchase tickets?

    Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate.

  • Do you accept all types of card payments? What about digital payments?

    We accept all major types of card payments that our POS system, Square, accepts. We also accept all digital, contactless payment that Square accepts, such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, etc.

  • How much are tickets?

    $15 per person (plus card service fees)

  • Who needs to pay for admission?

    Everyone 2 and older is required to pay general admission to be admitted into the Pumpkin Patch.

    Kids 1 & under are free.

  • What is included in admission to the pumpkin patch?

    $15 admission includes 1 hayride ticket & always unlimited games/activities.


  • Do you include a pumpkin with admission?

    No, we do not include a pumpkin with your admission ticket. General admission includes multiple activities and a hayride. We do have pumpkins available for an additional cost.

  • What are your hours?

    For the 2024 Pumpkin Patch season, we are open to the public on October 4th - November 2nd on Saturdays & Sundays ONLY! 


    Hours:

    Saturdays 10:00am - 5:00pm

    Sundays 12:30pm - 5:00pm

    Columbus Day 10:00am - 2:00pm


  • What types of payment do you take?

    We accept cash and credit cards. Please note that a service fee will apply with a credit or debit card.

  • Do you have any discounts for large groups?

    Yes! Group General Admission discounts start with groups over 100 people (not including Field Trips or Homeschool Days). To make arrangements you can email us at bartonfarmstx@gmail.com.

  • Where are you located?

    We are located at 5320 Old Hwy 6, Van Alstyne, Texas 75495. We are just 2 miles east of HWY 75, 2 minutes north from Downtown Van Alstyne, & 45 minutes north of Dallas, TX. 

    We are located right across from Van Alstyne High School! 

    *Please use the dirt/grass driveway closest to the white metal building. The drive will have our Barton Farms sign. Please do not enter through the gravel driveway, that is a private residence.

    Take EXIT 51

    Turn RIGHT onto W VAN ALSTYNE PRKW

    TURN LEFT onto HWY 5/NORTH WACO ST at the red light

    TURN RIGHT onto SPENCE ROAD

    After crossing the Railroad Tracks on Spence Road, Turn LEFT onto OLD HWY 6

    Turn RIGHT into Barton Farms Pumpkin Patch (grass drive and parking lot). You will see our Barton Farms Pumpkin Patch sign by the road.

  • What if I don’t want to do any Pumpkin Patch activities. Do I still have to pay admission?

    Yes, anyone ages 2 & up who wants to enter the Pumpkin Patch is required to purchase a ticket. 

  • Can I stop by to purchase pumpkins?

    Yes, you may shop in our Pumpkin Market during our Pumpkin Patch hours of operation. It is located in front of the entry of the patch. No entry fee to shop in the Pumpkin Market. There will be a variety of pumpkins, gourds, Indian corn, and hay bales. We restock the Market daily. 

    You cannot enter the pumpkin patch to pick out pumpkins, unless you pay the $15 admission price.

  • I want to purchase a pumpkin during the weekday or when the Pumpkin Patch is closed. Can I stop by to purchase one from you?

    No, the Pumpkin Patch and Pumpkin Market is only open October 5th - November 2nd for the 2024 Pumpkin Patch season. Our hours are Saturdays 10:00am - 5:00pm and Sundays 12:30pm - 5:00pm. All other times, the Pumpkin Patch and property is closed to the public. 

  • I want to stop by to see/drive up to the Pumpkin Patch or take pictures when you are closed. Can I do that?

    Absolutely not! This is a private residence that is only open to the public on specific days & hours. The public cannot drive onto the property/into the parking area or walk on any of the property. We do have security cameras that run 24/7. 


    We are open to the public on: 

    October 5th (10am - 5pm), October 4th (12:30pm - 5pm), October 12th (10am - 5pm), October 13th (12:30pm - 5pm), October 14th (10am - 2pm), October 19th (10am - 5pm), October 20th (12:30pm - 5pm), October 26th (10am - 5pm), October 27th (12:30pm - 5pm), November 2nd (10am - 5pm).

  • Can I bring food or drinks?

    No, food and drinks are not allowed inside the Pumpkin Patch. 


    Food and drinks are prohibited unless authorized by Barton Farms for field trips or special reserved events. 


    During our open seasons to the public, we will have food vendors inside the Pumpkin Patch:

    Barton Express - Food & Drinks will be here this year. They will be located in our Barn  will have drinks, hot dogs, bbq sandwiches, candy & snacks available for purchase. Barton Express is open on Saturdays 10am - 5pm, Sundays 12:30pm - 5pm, and select Field Trip/Homeschool Days.


    Logan’s Lemonade & Snacks will be back this season! They serve delicious fair styled lemonade that will make you want to come back for more! 


    SnoJo will be back again! They serve all kinds of sno cone flavors, as well as popcorn.


    We are so excited to have Logan's Lemonade & SnoJo back again for the 2024 Pumpkin Season!

    PICNIC AT THE PATCH:

    We have a date package that you can purchase 24 hours in advance: Barton Farms - Picnic at the Patch. This can be for a couple or for a family who would like to picnic under the trees by the water. Contact us to reserve your picnic basket complete with a charcuterie board, sparkling juice and blanket. 

  • What is Picnic at the Patch?

    Picnic at the Patch is our picnic or date package!


    You can purchase 24 hours in advance: Barton Farms - Picnic at the Patch. This can be for a couple or for a family who would like to picnic under the trees by the water. Contact us to reserve your picnic basket complete with a picnic basket, charcuterie board, sparkling juice and blanket. 

  • Are pets allowed?

    No, pets are not allowed inside the Pumpkin Patch. For the safety of your pet and the safety of other guests, they will not be allowed to enter. If you are traveling from out of town, there are local places that will board pets for the day.


    ADA SERVICE DOGS: Service dogs recognized by the ADA are welcome (emotional support/comfort/companion animals are not recognized by the ADA). In reference to the ADA website, it is training that distinguishes a service animal from other animals. It is the handlers responsibility for the care and supervision of their service animal. If the service animal behaves in an unacceptable way, we have a right to ask that the dog be removed.

  • Are there any restrooms on the property?

    Yes, we have portable restrooms and a portable hand washing station located near our Barn/Barton Express - Food & Drinks. These restrooms are only available to customers.

  • What should I wear to Barton Farms Pumpkin Patch?

    For safety reasons, everyone should wear closed-toed shoes, such as tennis shoes. Wearing socks on the bounce houses is a requirement. Always dress for the weather and bring sunscreen.

  • Is the hayride included in general admission?

    Yes! Each general admission ticket includes one hayride ticket. 

  • Can I ride the hayride more than once?

    Each general admission ticket includes one hayride ticket. If you would like to ride more than once, please come to the entry desk to purchase additional tickets. Each additional ticket is $1.00.

  • How long is your hayride?

    Our hayride will take you on a scenic route around the pumpkin patch and through areas that you cannot get to on foot inside the pumpkin patch. It is usually 10 to 15 minutes long.

  • Do you have select times when your hayride leaves?

    Yes! Our hayrides leave every 30 to 45 minutes. This is to ensure that we have a full trailer load. If the line to the hayride is packed, we will do 2 hayrides, sometimes 3 back to back to ensure everyone in line gets a ride. 

    As always, there will be a Hayride Schedule posted by the Hayride Entry.

  • Can I book a private hayride?

    Yes! Please come to the entry desk to purchase a private hayride ticket for you and your guests. Please note, our hayride can comfortably sit 20 to 25 people.

  • Do you have bounce houses?

    Yes, we have a bounce house that will be available if the weather allows. Socks are required! 

    Please note, the bounce house will be deflated during high winds or rain.

  • Once I pay admission, can I leave and come back?

    Yes, you may leave and come back on the same day. Be sure to have your wristband on as you exit and when you return. Please show your wristband to the person at the entry desk before entering back inside the Pumpkin Patch. We use a different color/pattern wristband each day.

  • Do you have wagons or wheelbarrows to carry pumpkins in?

    Yes, we have wagons available for you. These wagons are for pumpkins only. No children are allowed inside the wagons. Please only use the wagons when you are ready to pick out your pumpkins and check out. Please do not leave wagons in parking lot and return them to entry barn.

  • Are strollers or my own personal wagon allowed?

    Yes, you are more than welcome to bring your own strollers or wagons.

  • Are you handicapped accessible?

    We try to make every part of our farm experience accessible; however, visitors in wheelchairs will have to travel across slight uneven ground on the property, which may require additional assistance. Also, we only have portable restrooms and we do not have handicapped accessible bathrooms at this time.

  • Do you close if it rains?

    Great question, because all of the activities at Barton Farms are outdoors, we keep a close eye on the weather forecasts each day to determine if we need to close or delay opening. The weather can force us to close for the day, close early or open later. However, we do our very best in trying to make those decisions as early as possible and to get that information out there to you on our Facebook page. If we have to close or delay opening, we will post it on our Facebook page.

  • Do I get a refund if it rains and you have to close for the day?

    No, we do not refund tickets, but if you purchased your ticket online and weather forces us to close, we will allow you to use your tickets from that particular day for another day in the season.

  • How much do the pumpkins cost? 

    We have a multiple variety of pumpkins, gourds, corn, and hay that cost $2 and up. 

  • Do you sell anything else?

    Yes, we sell Barton Farms Merchandise and toys in the Admission Pavillon.

  • Do you have a lost and found?

    Yes, please email information about what was lost, along with identifying details. Include your name and phone number so we can easily contact you if we find your missing item. 

  • Do you have a First Aid Kit?

    Yes, located at the Admission Pavillon and Barton Express Barn.

  • What is your professional photographer policy?

    If you are a professional photographer, you are required to purchase a photography pass. Please contact us prior to make a reservation and to purchase a photography pass.

  • How can I contact you?

    The Pumpkin Patch is a seasonal business, please understand that the best way to contact us is through email at bartonfarmstx@gmail.com. During Pumpkin Patch Season, please understand we try to respond within 48 hours. During the off season, all responses may take a few days.
